Oktoberfest gets underway today in Seymour

Streets have closed in downtown Seymour as the community gets ready for the start of the 52nd Oktoberfest today.

Organizers say that discount ride bracelets are still available to purchase at Seymour City Hall until 4:30 p.m. this afternoon.

The non profit food vendors will open at 11 this morning. The carnival and biergarten will open at 5 p.m.

Events are going on each night until 11 p.m. through Saturday. The festival gets into full swing Thursday with opening ceremonies at 5:30 p.m.
