Three arrested in Jennings drug investigation

Three people were arrested on drug related charges in an investigation that started with a traffic stop Saturday in Jennings County.

According to the Jennings County Sheriff’s Department, a deputy was patrolling on West County Road 300N Saturday evening when they noticed a vehicle make several traffic violations. After pulling the vehicle over a police dog alerted to odor of drugs inside. The driver, 45 year old Matthew Bertram of North Vernon allegedly admitted to police that there was a large amount of meth inside.

A search revealed almost 20 grams of the drug. Bertram was taken into custody.

The investigation led police to serve a search warrant at a home in North Vernon. The search uncovered evidence of drug dealing, a gun and 17.4 grams of methamphetamine.

The resident, 68-year-old Debra Gray was taken into custody. Also arrested at the home was 36 year old Amberly Adkins, who was arrested on a preliminary charge of possession of paraphernalia.
