17 Year Old Arrested After Car Pursuit/Crash

A 17 year old was arrested after a pursuit early Monday morning. Early on Monday, Officer James Reese with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding in the area of State Road 135 and County Line Road in Greenwood. The driver fled, turning off his head lights and accelerating at high speeds. The pursuit ended when the suspect’s vehicle crashed into a garage in the 6800 Block of South Meridian Street in Indianapolis. The driver was quickly taken into custody without further incident. The driver was identified as a 17 Year old Male who had just received his drivers license on November 20th. While taking inventory of the vehicle prior to towing, Officers discovered a loaded automatic pistol. The teen was transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation. After being cleared, the juvenile will be taken to the Johnson County Juvenile Detention Center. He is facing Resisting law enforcement charges along with dangerous possession of a fire arm.
