OWI Arrest Leads To Narcotics Charges in North Vernon

On November 24th, Task Force Officer Chris Allen with the North Vernon Police Department was dispatched to the 300 block of North State Street in regards to a report of a person acting erratically around a vehicle. Upon Arriving, Officer Allen located Scarlett Chapman who was found to be extremely intoxicated on methamphetamine. Chapman was arrested and charged with an OWI and possession of methamphetamines’.
During the investigation, officers gathered information indicating possible narcotics activity at a residence in the 20 block of South County Road 110 West. Officers received a search warrant and upon execution of the warrant discovered multiple items consistent with narcotics use and distribution. As a result, Larry Lee Wilhite was arrested for maintaining a common nuisance, possession of paraphernalia, and possession of meth.
