Update: Heaviest snowfall expected from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.

A winter weather advisory goes into effect in our from 5 p.m. this afternoon to 10 a.m. tomorrow morning with freezing rain this afternoon and heavy snow expected tonight.

Forecasters with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis say the greatest snowfall should be between 8 p.m. tonight and 4 a.m. Friday morning. There is a chance of more snow later tomorrow morning and into Friday afternoon.

If you have to be out and about this afternoon you can expect roads to be slippery. Emergency officials say you should make sure to slow down, leave extra distance between you and vehicles in front of you and give yourself extra time to reach your destination.

This weekend the weather is expected to turn bitterly cold with lows at or below zero and windchills as low as 20 below.
