Deputy man facing charges after fight with deputy

A Deputy man is facing charges after getting into a scuffle with Jennings County deputies for refusing to leave a home.

According to the Jennings County Sheriff’s Department, the incident started Thursday when deputies were called to a home in the Paris Crossing area about a man who was refusing to leave. A deputy spoke with 54-year-old Richard Milburn of Deputy who became confrontational with police. When the deputy tried to take Milburn into custody, a struggle began. Milburn was soon arrested and taken to St. Vincent Jennings Hospital to be checked out for injuries.

He was then taken to jail on a preliminary felony charge of battery on a law enforcement officer causing injury, as well as misdemeanor charges of criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and resisting law enforcement.

Deputy Blake Maynard was also treated at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital for minor injuries, police say.
