CRH touts vaccines as vital tool to prevent many illnesses

Columbus Regional Health is urging residents to get vaccinated.

That comes after a rise in illnesses in the community has led to visitor restrictions at the hospital, which went into effect on Monday in an effort to protect patients and staff.

According to the hospital, there is an increase in cases of RSV, COVID and influenza in the community at large and in hospital patients.

Hospital officials say that they “strongly support vaccination as a cornerstone of public health, a shining example of the power of scientific research, and a vital tool in the fight against preventable diseases.” They are urging you to follow the recommended vaccination schedules outlined by the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Academy of Pediatricians. That is a way to protect yourself, your loved ones and your community.
