CRH begins search for new health system leader

Columbus Regional Health has opened the search for a new CEO and president of the local health system and hired a search firm.

According to the hospital, its Board of Trustees has engaged AMN Healthcare | B.E. Smith to lead the search. The agency is a national search firm recognized for their expertise in healthcare executive placement.

This search will evaluate both internal and external candidates, Hospital officials say the goal is to find a leader “who embodies Columbus Regional Health’s mission, vision, and values, and is aligned with the organization’s strategic priorities…”

The search process is expected to take several months. The goal is to have a new President & CEO on board by the middle of the year.

Current hospital chief Jim Bickel came out of retirement last year to temporarily fill the position again after his successor Steve Baker left the hospital.
