Nominations open for substance abuse prevention grants

Bartholomew County non profit groups and government agencies can begin applying for grant money from opioid settlement funds, starting on Saturday.

The Alliance for Substance Abuse Progress in Bartholomew County is announcing the opening of the application window. Non profit groups, county governments and municipalities are eligible to apply. The applicant must represent a Bartholomew County organization or program that works to combat substance use disorder.

Applicants must present projects that meet the guidelines outlined in the National Opioid Settlement.

Megan Cherry, the executive director of ASAP, said that the goal is to “bring measurable and sustainable solutions to substance use and recovery efforts in Bartholomew County.”

The deadline to apply is March 31st. ASAP is accepting applications on behalf of the Bartholomew County Substance Abuse Advisory and Accountability Committee and the Substance Abuse Public Funding Board
