Tornado watch: Forecasters increase risk of severe weather this afternoon, evening

Forecasters see an increasing risk of severe weather in our area this afternoon and evening. A tornado watch is now in effect through this evening.

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has increased our risk level to an enhanced risk for severe weather. Forecasters say that scattered severe thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening. Damaging winds, large hail and isolated tornadoes are all possible.

The threat exists for a strong tornado in south central Indiana until 8 p.m. tonight. A tornado watch is in effect for our area until 10 p.m. including Bartholomew, Brown, Decatur, Jackson and Jennings counties.
