Reported stolen vehicle leads to arrest of North Vernon woman

The sighting of a stolen vehicle driving in North Vernon led to a woman’s arrest earlier this month.
According to the North Vernon Police Department, the incident happened late in the evening on March 6th, when Jennings County deputies alerted city officers that a car reported stolen from Seymour had been located at a drive-through on North State Street. North Vernon police pulled the vehicle over in the 700 block of North State Street and confirmed that the vehicle had been reported stolen.
The driver, 57-year-old Malvery Fording of North Vernon was taken into custody. A search of the vehicle uncovered prescription medication that did not belong to Fording.
She was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of a stolen vehicle and of a legend drug.
