Prosecutor’s office recognizes victims’ rights this week

The Bartholomew County Prosecutors Office detailing its efforts to assist victims as part of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week.

The week has been recognized since 1981 and is meant to raise awareness about victim’s rights and services available to victims. National Crime Victims’ Rights week runs through Saturday and this year’s theme is Listen. Act. Advocate. Protect victims. Serve communities.

The prosecutor’s office is thanking victim’s advocates for working tirelessly to meet the need of victims and of first responders who help victims every day.

According to the prosecutor’s office, last year they served victims in more than 600 cases. The office recognizes that victims are affected by crimes long after a court case is completed.
