Seymour man accused of plotting to kill financial workers

Seymour police arrested a man last week accused of threatening and making plans to kill workers at a financial institution.

According to the Seymour Police Department, the investigation began on Friday when police were alerted that the man had been threatening and intimidating current and former employees of the organization. But as the investigation progressed, police found that the suspect had taken what police call “a substantial step” in carrying out the threats.

Police say that the investigation is still in its early stages, but they took the suspect, 60-year-old Fred W. Heckman into custody. He is facing preliminary charges including three counts of attempted murder, three counts of intimidation and one count of intimidation of a law enforcement officer.

Police say that investigation is ongoing and officers are still following up on information.
