Smoke on the Square returns to Hope this weekend
The 15th annual Smoke on the Square barbecue competition is set for this weekend on the Hope Town Square.
The event is the largest annual fundraiser for the Community Center of Hope. It features a BBQ cook-off competition between teams and public BBQ dining, along with music, vendors and other activities.
The cookoff will be Friday and Saturday, with food available from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday night and from 11 Saturday morning until it sells out. Meals will include brisket, pork and a limited supply of ribs both days. Along with a side of beans and a drink
The competition is open to all levels of competitors and will have categories for brisket, chicken, ribs and pork.
The Night Owl Country Band will be performing Friday night from 5 to 8 p.m. On Saturday the Mystery Train Band will perform from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and BurmaShavers will be performing from 3 to 5 p.m..
