Exhibit Columbus receives honorable mention in international awards

The most recent round of Exhibit Columbus has received international recognition from an organization recognizing Great Places.

According to the Landmark Columbus Foundation, the Environmental Design Research Association selected the most recent cycle of Exhibit Columbus as an honorable mention for its 2026 Great Places Awards. Exhibit Columbus was recognized in the Place Art category of the competition during the association’s May international conference. The category honors projects that explore the relationship between people and place, and activate public space through engagement, interpretation, and shared experience.

The 2024 through 2025 two-year Exhibit Columbus cycle opened 13 installations at sites across downtown Columbus last August. The two-year cycle had a theme of “Yes And” which reflected an improvisational performance technique of expanding on an idea.

The jury wrote in part that Exhibit Columbus “offers a compelling model for how temporary interventions can strengthen civic dialogue and expand access to architectural heritages.”

The 2025 Exhibit Columbus installations were the community’s fifth round, marking 10 years since the program began.
