Severe weather could come with thunderstorms storms late today
The possibility of severe weather is in the forecast for much of Indiana today.
The National Weather Service in Indianapolis is warning of the danger of severe weather late this afternoon into the early hours of Thursday morning. Hazards could include possible tornadoes, damaging winds of more than 70 mph, hail as large as 2 inches and torrential rains bringing flash flooding.
South Central Indiana, south of a line from roughly Bloomington to Greensburg has a slight chance of severe weather.
The bad weather is expected to come in two waves, with the first this afternoon, with the next in the late evening to overnight hours. The greatest danger of severe weather is in that second wave.
Even outside of the storms, forecasters expect it to be windy today with wind gusts of up to 40 mph.
