Bad weather forecast puts damper on Hope celebration Friday
Expected bad weather has led organizers of Hope’s Old Fashioned Independence Day celebrations to scale back their event on Friday. Most of the outdoor activities are being canceled including the fireworks, with some activities being moved inside the Yellow Trail Museum.
Friday’s forecast includes the threat of severe thunderstorms, excessive rain and possible flash flooding, with up to three inches of rain possible.
The museum will be open 5:30 to 7:30 pm Friday with ice cream floats and kids crafts.
The Little Miss and Mister Firecracker will still be announced at 6:15 p.m. and the Hope Heritage Days Grand Marshall will be announced at 6:20 p.m.
The fireworks show is being rescheduled for later in the year.
