Officers set out for 25th annual ride to support survivors

Hundreds of law enforcement officers from across Indiana began the 25th annual Cops Cycling for Survivors ride today. The 13-day, nearly 1,000-mile trip raises money for the families of Indiana officers who died in the line of duty. Riders will travel from Indianapolis to all four corners of the state, stopping in communities to meet with surviving family members and honor fallen officers. The riders will be in our area on Day 12, July 17th passing through Brownstown.

This year’s ride recognizes Reserve Deputy John Stahl of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and Cpl. Blake Reynolds of the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office.

In addition to providing immediate financial support upon a line of duty death Cops Cycling for Survivors also supports more than 25 scholarships and foundations established in honor of fallen officers.
