Voting open for cardboard boat teams to aid United Way

Voting is open for the People’s Choice awards for Friday’s Ya Gotta Regatta Cardboard boat race at Mill Race Park.

The Regatta is being presented by Cummins. Teams around the community are constructing boats made entirely of cardboard to compete for a variety of awards.

The event is being organized to raise money for United Way of Bartholomew County. Proceeds from the event will support efforts to reduce poverty and homelessness across the community. The fundraising includes a People’s Choice Award where you can cast votes by donating dollars.

The regatta will be part of the inaugural Columbus Riverfest event coming up from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at Mill Race Park.
