Dangerous heat returns to area with warnings
Extreme and possibly dangerous heat is returning to our area today.
The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a heat advisory for today, saying that the high humidity is going to combine with real temperatures of near 90, to make it feel like it is 110 in parts of our area today.
Forecasters say that heat related illnesses are a real possibility if you have to be outside today. They suggest that that you drink plenty of water, stay in an air conditioned room if you can, keep out of the sun and check up on relatives, friends and neighbors who might be vulnerable to this heat.
The heat advisory is in effect from 11 this morning until 9 p.m. tonight. The affected area includes Bartholomew, Brown, Johnson and Jackson counties.
