Seymour investigators seek leads in home arson case
Seymour firefighters are looking for your help in solving an arson investigation.
According to the Seymour Fire Department, they are investigating an early morning fire that happened on Sept. 18th. That fire at 712 West Oak Street in Seymour was reported at about 4:10 a.m. that morning. When firefighters arrived at the scene, the home was fully engulfed in flames with heavy smoke and fire. Although it was originally believed that people could be inside, after firefighters were able to enter the home and make a search they discovered it was vacant.
Fire investigators determined that the fire was incendiary and it has been classified as an arson. The Seymour Fire Department investigation unit is working with the Indiana State Fire Marshall’s office. They are asking anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area or who has any information about the fire to come forward.
There is up to a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest an conviction in the case.
