State Road 135 work on hold until next week in Jackson County

Plans to close State Road 135 in Jackson County to stabilize a slide near Freetown have been pushed back a week.

According to INDOT, the work was originally set to start on Wednesday, and now will start on Monday, October 6th and last through early November. The work schedule is dependent on the weather.

That work will be taking place on State Road 135 between State Road 58 and Kiper Creek, starting on Wednesday, October 1st and lasting through early November. Temporary traffic signals already in the area will be deactivated during the road closure.

The official detour route follows State Road 58 to State Road 258 to State Road 11 to U.S. 50 and then back to State Road 135.
