Log Cabin Day at Muscatatuck canceled due to shutdown

Saturday’s planned Log Cabin Day events at Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge are being cancelled.

According to the Muscatatuck Wildlife Society, the government shutdown has meant the closure of the visitors center at the refuge and all of its related activities. That has meant that organizers have not been able to prepare of this weekend’s events, leading to the cancellation. Even if the government shutdown were to end, the work could not be completed in time for Saturday.

Organizers are thanking all of the volunteers who had been planning to bring their talent to the event and say that they are looking forward to next year’s activities.

The annual event is scheduled to celebrate National Wildlife Refuge Week, which starts on Sunday.
