Seymour hospital recognized for maternal health efforts

Schneck Medical Center in Seymour is being recognized for its work on maternal health.

According to the Seymour hospital, Schneck has received the AIM award from the Alliance Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health. The AIM initiative is led by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and equips hospital with standardized, evidence-based protocols designed to reduce maternal morbidity and mortality.

The Alliance says that Schneck’s adoption of the protocols reflect its leadership in maternal health innovation and its dedication to continuous improvement.

Hospitals are evaluated on areas such as

  • Infant safe sleep
  • Breastfeeding support
  • Perinatal substance use care
  • Treatment of maternal hypertension

The AIM award is presented by the Indiana Hospital Association and the Indiana Department of Health,
