Seymour co-working space receives CenterPoint grant

The Jackson County Chamber Foundation is receiving a grant to support the buildout of a co-working space in downtown Seymour.

According to the foundation, the $10,000 grant from the CenterPoint Energy Foundation will support the SPARK Shop Coworking Studio. The space will be used for local entrepreneurs, innovators and remote workers to share resources, to collaborate and to form a community. Construction began in July on the space and it is expected to open in 2026. The center will be at at 2nd & Broadway in Seymour in the former George’s Tire Shop building.

Chamber President Dan Robison said that the “SPARK Shop will be a launchpad for new business startups in Jackson County” and said that the grant from CenterPoint Energy Foundation will help fuel the shop’s mission and impact.

CenterPoint Energy Foundation Grants are awarded to eligible nonprofit organizations with programs that support community vitality and education in communities served by CenterPoint Energy.
