Reminders: Trash routes delayed, Christmas tree pickup starts
Local government offices are closed today for the Christmas holiday.
Trash and recycling routes are running a day late in Columbus with normal Thursday routes being picked up today and normal Friday routes picked up on Saturday.
The city of Columbus is starting its collection of live Christmas trees today.
According to the city’s Department of Public Works, you can put your live residential Christmas trees curbside by 7 a.m. on your regular trash day starting today.
Trees must be free of:
- Ornaments
- Hooks
- Lights
- Nails
- Stands
Christmas tree collections will run through the end of January.
Columbus City Utilities offices are also closed. If you have a problem with your water or sewer service, you can call 812-372-8861 and follow the prompts.
