One person dead after Christmas Eve crash near Franklin

One person died after a crash on Christmas Eve near Franklin.

According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department, deputies and Franklin police were called to the scene of a crash on Nineveh Road and County Road 80S Wednesday morning after reports of a serious automobile accident. First responders found three injured people at the scene of the crash.

The driver of one vehicle was taken to IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Two people in another vehicle were also injured and were taken to Johnson Memorial Hospital. One of those patients was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Deputies say that the crash is still under investigation and none of the names of the victims are yet being released.

Nineveh Road from US 31 to Windstar was closed while the accident was investigated and the crash scene cleaned up.

Franklin Fire Department and Seals Ambulance Service also assisted the victims at the scene.
