Wind advisory continues through 5 p.m. today
We remain under a wind advisory through this afternoon, with wind gusts of 50 mph or more possible.
According to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, the wind advisory is in effect through 5 p.m. today, with the strongest winds north of Interstate 70.
The strong winds are combining with a sharp drop in temperatures to make for some dangerous wind chill levels. Some spots in in Indiana could have wind chills as low as 0 and -5 this morning and tonight, but in the northern part of the state. Our area will see wind chills in the single digits this morning.
Forecasters suggest that you make sure to cover any exposed skin, wear multiple layers of clothing and if you have to be outside, take breaks from the cold air in sheltered areas.
