Burglary suspect found on roof of North Vernon building

A ladder found in the middle of the night in North Vernon led to the arrest of a man on burglary charges.

According to the North Vernon Police Department, the incident happened on Dec. 20th, when officers were called to a business alarm at the Dollar General store on Buckeye Street and discovered signs that the business had been broken into. Those included a partially open rear door, damages to the property and merchandise that had been displaced. A look at surveillance video showed a man inside the business after hours, who appeared to have entered through the buildings HVAC system. He then escaped through the back door.

A search of the area found Anthony Brock hiding on the roof of a nearby building. He was taken into custody and is facing preliminary charges of burglary, breaking and entering, criminal mischief, criminal trespass, and public intoxication.
