CRH reaccredited for stroke care

Columbus Regional Health has been recertified for stroke care from a national organization.

The hospital is announcing that the primary stroke certification was awarded recently to the hospital by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care. In order to be certified, healthcare organizations must demonstrate that they comply with national standards that facilitate a higher level of performance and patient care.

With the certification CRH is able to provide standard stroke care and use clot-busting medication o provide the best possible outcomes.

Primary Stroke Certification is awarded every three years. The Stroke Team at CRH underwent onsite reviews, observations and interviews, with a surveyor evaluating the hospital’s compliance with certification standards. Those standards include: stroke program management, delivering and facilitating clinical care and performance measures.
