Contractor meeting scheduled for Hope housing repair program

Contractors interested in bidding on home rehabilitation projects in the town of Hope will be able to attend an informational meeting later this month.

Last month, the state announced that Hope was receiving $350,000 for Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation Grants, the only town in the state to receive the award.

The grants provide funds to low and moderate-income homeowners so they can make needed repairs on their homes.

According to the town, the repair work can include roof replacements, ADA accessibility, heating and cooling, lighting and electrical upgrades and water heater replacements. Grants can be for up to $15,000 and are based on income eligibility.

At the meeting, contractors will be able to learn about eligibility requirements, scope of work, payment process, warranty requirements and sample bid forms.

The contractor meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 29th at the Hope Town Hall.

The meeting is being organized by the Southeastern Indiana Regional Planning Commission.
