Trespassing investigation leads to drugs, fraud charges

A Seymour woman was arrested on drug and theft charges Saturday after originally being accused of trespassing.

According to the North Vernon Police Department, officers were called to the Walmart about a woman who was trespassing. That led them to arrest Brittany Allison of Seymour with incident.

A search warrant was served on her vehicle and inside police discovered methamphetamine and of what they are calling a ” a complex fraud and theft operation.” They also seized a cell phone.

Allison is facing preliminary charges for criminal trespass and for possessing the meth, as well as theft, and fraud

Police Chief Keith Messer praised the officers involved, saying they uncovered a complex narcotics, theft and fraud investigation, removing dangerous drugs from the community and disrupting an operation that “could have impacted numerous local businesses and residents.”
