Cold weather remains; Next icy blast is forecast for weekend

Forecasters say this dangerously cold weather is going to stick around for a while longer.

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis says you could see wind chills as low as -5 morning.

Forecasters say that hypothermia is a real danger if precautions aren’t taken. You should use extra caution if you have to be outside, and wear appropriate clothing including a hat and gloves.

With these temperatures you should keep pets indoors as much as possible.

And you should check in on older family members, friends or neighbors who may be especially susceptible to the cold temperatures.

Forecasters say that there is another wave of nasty winter weather on the horizon that could bring below normal temperatures this weekend into next week with the potential for sub-zero temperatures and wind chills well below zero.
