Snow accumulation possible through this evening
Forecasters say that we could see up to two inches of snow today.
The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a winter weather advisory for our area starting at 7 this morning and lasting through 7 p.m. in the evening. Bartholomew, Decatur, Jackson and Jennings counties all could be affected.
They say that a narrow band of bad weather producing moderate to heavy snowfall will likely pass through our area today. The exact timing isn’t certain yet, but it could tie up traffic during the morning or afternoon commutes with slippery road conditions.
Most of our area still remains under travel restrictions following last week’s snowstorm.
According to the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, Bartholomew, Brown, Jackson, Jennings, Johnson and Shelby counties are all still under the yellow travel advisory level. Under a yellow travel advisory, driving conditions could be hazardous in some areas.
Of our area counties, only Decatur County has dropped back to normal travel levels.
