Columbus landmark features in DNR historic bank highlights

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources Division of Historic Preservation & Archaeology is highlighting a Columbus landmark.

On social media, the department has been highlighting historic buildings throughout the state that operated as banks. They chose as an example the Eastbrook Plaza building that was built as a branch of Irwin Union Bank and Trust in 1961 and designed by Harry Weese. The bank was transformed into a coffee shop in 2020 by Lucabe Coffee Co.

The building was nominated for the National Register of Historic Places in 2025.
