Parole violation leads to three years in prison

A Bartholomew County judge has sentenced a man to three years in prison for violating his parole.

According to the Bartholomew County Prosecutor’s Office, Columbus Police began an investigation last May after Brian Dickey was accused of contacting a minor younger than 16, violating his lifetime parole, which led to a felony charge.

In January, Dickey pled guilty to violating his parole. A sentencing hearing was held last week and Bartholomew Superior Court 1 Judge James Worton sentenced Dickey to three years to be served in the Indiana Department of Corrections.
