Washington Street closing for utility work Wednesday, Thursday

Columbus City Utilities crews will be closing Washington Street starting tomorrow morning and lasting through Thursday afternoon.

According to the utility company, crews will be installing water service in the area and will close Washington Street between Rocky Ford Road and Volland Street. That closure will start at 7 a.m. Wednesday morning and last through the end of the day Thursday.

If you can, you should find an alternate route or expect delays if you have to drive in the area. Officials remind you to slow down, to drive without distractions, to obey road signs and to use extra caution to worker safety in all work zones.

White River Broadcasting offices, at the corner of Washington Street and U.S. 31, will be open as normal during the closure.
