Wanted man with gun arrested in Seymour

Seymour police say that a wanted man with a gun refused to come out of a home when police tried to serve an arrest warrant Tuesday.

According to the Seymour Police Department, officers went to the 500 block of South Walnut Street to arrest 30-year-old Nicholas A. Shutters, of Seymour. They say Shutters came to the door then retreated to the back of the home when he recongized that officers were there.

Police soon contacted Shutters and he was taken into custody. A search uncovered the firearm as well as fentanyl.

In addition to the warrant, he is now facing additional felony charges of being a serious violent felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance and resisting law enforcement.
