CRH returning to normal rules for visitors

Columbus Regional Health will soon be relaxing restrictions on visitors at the hospital.

The hospital has had visitor restrictions in place since December after a surge in the number of cases of viral respiratory illnesses seen in the community and among hospital patients, visitors and staff. But now the health system is seeing a drop in the number of people with those illnesses and will return to normal visitor policies starting on March 30th.

That will mean visitors who are 14 or older will be welcome again, at the discretion of the patient’s care team and any other restraints within the inpatient setting.

Visitors may be asked to take safety precautions by using masks or additional personal protective equipment determined to be necessary. If you are experiencing symptoms of potentially contagious illness you are discouraged from visiting.

Patients who are in labor may have up to three designated support people in the Birthing Center. Visitors under 14 will not be allowed in the birthing center unless they are siblings of the newborn.

Visiting hours in the birthing center remain from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the afternoon and from 4 to 8 p.m. in the evening.
