A Jackson County man has been sentenced to 60 years in prison for murdering his father.

According to the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office, a jury found 29-year-old Robert Fox of Norman guilty in February of murdering his father 76-year-old Larry Fox in January of last year.

He was arrested in April 2025 after an investigation by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department.

On Tuesday, Judge Richard Poynter sentenced him to 60 years in prison

Prosecutor Lynsey N. Fleetwood said that this was a calculated and intentional killing. “Fox made a conscious decision to carry out a plan to murder his father, and this sentence reflects the weight of that deliberate choice,” Fleetwood said.

Fleetwood praised the work of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, saying that detectives “commitment to seeking the truth and pursuing justice was critical every step of the way.”
