Seymour to shine after citywide cleanup this week

Seymour officials are making plans to Make Seymour Shine with a weeklong cleanup effort that starts today and runs through Friday.

During the event you can put out a single pickup-sized load of trash on your regular trash day and city crews will haul it away for you, free of charge.

City officials say that you should have your extra debris at the curb by 7 a.m. in the morning and it should be separate from any yard waste. They suggest keeping your debris pile away from any manhole covers, water meters or overhead power lines.

Yard waste pickups may be delayed during the Make Seymour Shine event because both of the city clam claw trucks will be used for debris pickup.
