Crews working to restore power to thousands this morning

Thousands of residents are without power this morning as cleanup continues from last night’s severe weather.

Duke Energy is reporting about 2,000 customers without power including more than 1,000 in Johnson County, 586 near Nashville, 164 near Hope, about 100 in Jackson County and 77 in Columbus.

Jackson County REMC has about 3,000 customers without power, with the largest group of 810 out near North Vernon, 346 out south of Freeman Field Airport, 283 south of Crothersville and about 200 near Cortland.

Southeastern Indiana REMC has 69 customers affected this morning.

South Central Indiana REMC is reporting 96 without power in Brown County.

Johnson County REMC has 37 customers without power in the Greenwood area.

Bartholomew County REMC has 29 without power in Jackson Township.
