Southern Crossing in Bartholomew County to close next week

Southern Crossing or Bartholomew County Road 450S will be closing for several days next week while crews work on the Louisville and Indiana Railroad tracks.

According to the Bartholomew County Highway Department, the work will be going on at the railroad crossing over Southern Crossing, between State Road 11 and Interstate 65. The work is expected to start on Tuesday at 6 a.m. and the road should reopen on Thursday at 6 a.m. The work schedule is dependent on the weather.

Access to local properties and the Bartholomew County Landfill will be maintained throughout the closure. Motorists are encouraged to use the posted detour and to plan for alternate routes. You should plan extra time for your drive if you normally go through that area.

The highway department encourages you to drive safely and to obey all traffic control devices.
