Audio: State Senate District 41 interviews with Walker, Davis

Incumbent State Sen. Greg Walker, of Columbus, is running against Rep. Michelle Davis of Whiteland for the State Senate District 41 seat in the May 5th Republican primary.

Unusual for a State Senate race, this race has drawn national level interest and advertising with the president  taking a personal interest in the race. That came after Walker voted, along with a majority of Indiana Senate Republicans, not to approve a mid-cycle redistricting effort pushed at the national level successfully in several states. The redistricting would have redrawn Indiana’s congressional map with the hopes of sending more Republicans to Congress this year. Indiana currently has nine House seats, with seven held by Republicans and two by Democrats. Statistically, the redrawn maps could have led to all nine seats being held by Republicans, by breaking up the two Democrat-majority districts.

Walker and Davis were interviewed for our News & Views program that runs on Saturday, April 18th and again on Sunday April 19th, on News Talk 1010 WCSI and 98.1 FM. Both of the interviews ran longer than the allotted 9-minute time. The longer interviews, lightly edited, are available here:
