Bartholomew Red Kettle campaign to get matching donations this week
Bloomington-based Bender Lumber Company is offering a matching gift program for the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Drive this weekend in Columbus and Bartholomew County.
According to the company, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday Bender Lumber will match donations dollar for dollar at red kettle locations in Bartholomew County. The company plans to match up to $6,000 donated in Bartholomew County. This is the second matching campaign for Bender Lumber and this is the sixth year for the company’s matching program.
Captain Amy Tomkins, corps officer for The Salvation Army of Columbus said that there has been an increase in the number of residents turning to the Salvation Army for food and financial assistance this year.
Kettles and bell ringers can be found at locations across the county, including Walmart, Sam’s Club, Kroger, Hobby Lobby, and TJ Maxx.
