Breakfast event set for MLK Day in Columbus

Columbus will be celebrating Monday morning with the 29th annual MLK Day Breakfast.

The event will have a theme of “I Am My Brother’s Keeper’ and the keynote speaker will be Whitney Wood-Gaines, a Bartholomew Consolidated Schools teacher and chair of Paths To Success.

The event will include a free hot breakfast. It is being organized by the African American Pastor’s Alliance.

The event will start at 8 a.m. in The Commons. It is free and you are invited to attend.

The event is seen as a kickoff for Black History Month events in the community. On Monday, the complete calendar of black history month related events in Columbus and Bartholomew County will go live at blackhistorycolumbus.com.
