Columbus man arrested in Jennings drug dealing investigation

A multi-county drug trafficking investigation led to the arrest of a Columbus man last week.

According to the North Vernon Police Department, the North Vernon Narcotics Task Force and the Bartholomew County Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team served a search warrant at home in the 3300 block of Deerbrook Drive in Columbus on Friday. Inside the home, police found more than one ounce of methamphetamine along with cocaine, multiple assault-style rifles, handguns, and cash.

54-year-old John Baron Snyder, of Columbus was arrested and is facing charges of Dealing in Methamphetamine and for possessing the cocaine and meth. All of the charges also carry firearm enhancements due to the presence of weapons found in close proximity to controlled substances during the search.

North Vernon police say that the search and arrest is part of an operation targeting networks distributing narcotics in the region.
