Columbus man sentenced after domestic violence arrest

A Columbus man is headed to prison after a domestic violence incident last year.

According to the Bartholomew County Prosecutor’s Office, Tyler Roberts was sentenced earlier this month for the incident in September of 2025.

Columbus Police were called to the scene on September 6th where they talked with a victim who said she had been battered and threatened by Tyler Roberts. Police interviews Roberts who also admitted to taking meth earlier in the evening. After he was arrested, he also made threats to the officers on the way to the Bartholomew County Jail.

Roberts was sentenced by Bartholomew Circuit Court Judge Kelly Benjamin on June 22nd to serve five years on a felony charge of domestic battery and 2 and a half years on a felony charge of intimidation.
