Columbus to hold Monday open house for transportation plan

The city of Columbus will be looking for your thoughts on the city’s transportation long-range plan on Monday.

According to the city, the plan looks at major road and street projects over the next 25 years by evaluating development trends and road capacity. It combines information form the Columbus Bike and Pedestrian Plan, the Transit Route Study and the city Safety Action Plan.

There was an open house in November to gather public input and an online survey that ran from November through January.

The city has put together a draft plan that outlines projects that are prioritized into 15 year and 25 year projects. You will have a chance to weigh in on how those should be sorted.

As proposed, the top priorities to be done over the next 15 years would be Talley Road from 25th Street to Rocky Ford Road, Lowell Road from County Road 325W to 200W, County Road 350W from State Road 46 to Goeller and 25th Street from Central Avenue to U.S. 31.

An update on the plan will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday at Columbus City Hall.
