Columbus visitors center celebrating 30 years next week

The Columbus Area Visitors Center will be celebrating its 30th anniversary with an event next week.

The center at Fifth and Franklin streets opened 30 years ago with a dedication ceremony hosted by Xenia Miller, who was instrumental in the creation of the facility. On Thursday, ceremonies will be held at the same spot where she made the dedication and historic video of the 1995 event will be screened.

Events will start at 5 p.m. with a reception, a plaque unveiling at 5:30 p.m. and light refreshments.

The event is free and you are invited to attend.
